Dublin will host the Irish Poker Open 2011, a tradition since the
tournament started. A field of professional and amateur
poker players will gather at
the poker tables of the championship trying to take home the
coveted first prize. Dave Ulliot, former champion Neil Channing and
Julian Thew will be there to compete.
The Irish Poker Open 2011 will feature poker Texas
Hold'em tables and a buy-in
of 3,500€ in the main event that will . Besides the main event,
which will begin on 22nd April. Other events that will take place
during the Irish Poker Open include a Pot Limit Omaha Championship
of € 825, a Ladies Championship of € 330, NLH and NLH Freezeout
Scalps of € 270 + € 30 + € 30.
Since the beginning of the year
online poker rooms have been offering players the chance
to qualify through online poker tournaments. Poker players can win
packages that besides the entry to the main event also include
accommodation and other special treats that vary depending on the

James Mitchell won the Irish
Poker Open in 2010 and received a prize of 600,000€. Organizers
expect the prize pool to reach the 2€ million this year, which
means the winner of the poker tournament will take home a large prize.
