Gianni DiRenzo is a professional poker
player who took part in the
World Series of Poker in 2010 as part of the team of a renowned
online poker site. He was the last player of the team standing up
to the main event of the WSOP.
DiRenzo, who is one of the two Italian players to remain in the
main event of the WSOP with 30
other players, entered on the seventh day of the poker tournament
with 2.2 million dollars in chips. He did not take many risks until
he had to play a poker hand with the President of the Slovak Sports
Federation, Dag Palovic.
Being on an early position, Gianni opened with a bet of 350,000,
which only resulted in Palovic going all-in. After some minutes of
meditation, DiRenzo followed Palovic's bet with a strong pair of
kings. Palovic only had pocket queens and once the flop brought a
king, Palovic waited for two more queens that never arrived and he
was eliminated from the poker tournament in 37th place.
Direnzo was left with 2.55 million in chips and ended in 29th
place winning $255,000. DiRenzo has not had great achievements in
poker tournaments but his poker game with Palovic will always be
remembered. Practice your poker game playing free poker.
