Raymond Wu is a professional Chinese
poker player, born in Taiwan and who at the moment lives in the
city of Taipei. He is a member of the PokerStars Pro Asia
professional team of poker players.
Raymond Wu was born in China
and he discovered poker while
studying psychology at the California University. He was a regular
television viewer of the World Series of Poker and he declared that
Gus Hansen has been his inspiration. After graduating, Wu returned
to Asia where he made a big impact in the local poker circuit.
Wu was chosen by PokerStars to become part of their team due to
his potential as a player. To begin with, he was not too successful
inonline poker, but he immediately
obtained a great prize as he finished in the third place in the
Macau Poker championship Macau Poker Cup in July 2009, where he
took part in the No Limit Hold´em event.
In October 2009 he came up in seventh place at the main European Poker
Tour event. Raymond Wu was
named captain of the Taipei Chinese Team. Even though the Taipei
team had few possibilities to win the World Poker Tour they ended
up ahead of the favorites which were Germany, Italy and the
USA.
Wu´s greatest achievement was winning the main poker
championship: The Macau Poker Cup in 2010. At the moment, he can be
found playing online poker at PokerStars with his own name.
