Byron Wolford, also known as Cowboy Wolford, is a
professional poker player born
in Tyler, Texas, on 14 September 1930 and he died on 13 May 2003.
Besides being a poker professional Wolford was a rodeo
professional. He has a WSOP bracelet and ended in second place in
the main event of the WSOP 1984. You can also be a poker

Byron started his rodeo career when he was 6 years old and he
learnt along with his father who was an expert horse trainer. When
he was 15 years old he had already won three times the Calgary
Stampede, and he was the National Canadian Champion. As to poker,
Wolford won money in several WSOP events
including a main event.
His greatest achievement was his second place in the main event
of the World
Series of Poker in 1984,
where he won $264,000. As years went by Wolford reached several
final tables in which he ended in second place. Finally, he won his
first bracelet in 1991 in the $5,000 Limit Texas Hold'em where he
beat Erik Seidel.
His winnings in live poker tournaments reached over the one million dollars,
from which $737,410 came from the World Series of Poker. Wolfram
also won the $10,000 No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Draw event of the
Super Bowl of Poker.
The poker
player and rodeo champion
marked a world record in rodeo at the Madison Square Garden in
